Dillian Whyte’s former trainer Mark Tibbs believes ‘The Bodysnatcher’ will be looking to get his big shots off early against Anthony Joshua.

The pair are set to clash on August 12 at the O2 Arena in London in a rematch of their 2015 bout.

And Whyte’s ex-trainer Tibbs is predicting a ‘war’

When the pair last met, Joshua won with a huge uppercut knockout in the seventh round, but Whyte also has a win over AJ in the amateurs.

Both men have suffered three losses in their careers so far, but a win in this fight could see them return to the upper echelons of the heavyweight division.

And now, Tibbs has had his say on the bout, telling Boxing News+: “I think Dillian will not mess about.

“He’s got that long jab and he will get behind that jab early doors and get his big shots off and try and drag him straight into a war.

“And maybe even try to drag him into the later rounds, I think Dillian’s got more of a chance if he can drag him into the later rounds.

“But, Anthony’s a very fine physical specimen and as long as he ain’t too rigid and too stiff, he can just let go and not over-analyse it, get behind his left and get his parry hand up and get is guns off straight away.

“It’s easier said than done and I’m sure they’ll have their game plans in what they’re going to do each team and I know they’ll both give it their best shot.”

Should AJ emerge victorious, he is hoping to set up a super-fight with Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia, but Whyte will be looking to scupper his plans and potentially steal the fight for himself.
