2-storey Building Collapses In Lagos

A two-storey building has collapsed on Amusu Street at the Orile Iganmu area of Lagos State.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, October 14, 2024.

A shocking video circulating on social media captured the terrifying moment the building collapsed, thereby, making people run helter-skelter for their lives.

The footage showed individuals scrambling to get to safety as the structure suddenly crumbled, unleashing a cloud of dust and debris.

However, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), in a preliminary report, said no casualty was recorded.

According to LASEMA’s Head, Public Affairs Unit, Nosa Okunbor, the Search and Rescue Team of the agency have arrived at the site of the collapsed building.

He said, “LASEMA Response Teams in Search & Rescue Operation at a self-collapsed building on Amusu Street, Baale Bus Stop, Orile Iganmu. Transmitted at 08:54am, no casualties,” he stated
