BREAKING: Lagos Assembly Gets First Female Speaker

Following the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday, a replacement has been elected in person of Hon. Mojisola Meranda

Meranda, a former deputy Speaker, was sworn-in immediately to take charge of the affairs of the House. She is the first female lawmaker to occupy the position in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

LEADERSHIP reports that Obasa was impeached over alleged corrupt practices.
