Launched in 2023, the i-Academy provides immersive and practical training across key sectors, including network infrastructure, IT operations, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development. Participants engage in a robust curriculum complemented by mentorship from industry veterans, development of soft skills, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies.

During the graduation ceremony, managing director, Heirs Technologies, Obong Idiong, commended the graduates for their hard work and determination, recognising them as the future leaders of Africa’s technology sector.

“We take immense pride in our graduates, who embody the potential of Africa’s technology landscape—passionate, skilled, and committed to making a meaningful impact. At Heirs Technologies, we are focused not just on building a business but on fostering individuals who will drive the future of our continent. Graduating over 100 trainees marks a significant milestone, and we are excited about the positive contributions they will bring,” Idiong stated.

The VP of i-Academy, Ivy Ikpeme-Mbakwem, also addressed the graduates, emphasizing the abundant prospects within the fields of cybersecurity and cloud computing.

She urged them to uphold discipline and diligence as they navigate their career paths.

“This is just the beginning. We are laying a strong foundation for a digitally empowered Africa,” Ikpeme-Mbakwem noted.

As part of their comprehensive assessments, trainees engaged in extensive hands-on experiences led by in-house experts. The Cloud Cohort focused on critical competencies like deploying applications in cloud environments, implementing identity and access management protocols, managing infrastructure, and designing enterprise architecture models, while the Cybersecurity Cohort covered essential topics such as network security, threat detection, and incident response.

Looking ahead, Heirs Technologies is excited to broaden the offerings of i-Academy by introducing specialised learning tracks in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Technical Support, reinforcing its commitment to human capital development and fostering inclusive innovation.
