Insurance brokers, under the auspices of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), have joined Insurance Meets Tech 4.0 (IMT 2025) as an Institutional Partner to strengthen the insurance sector through technology.
The strategic collaboration, announced ahead of the conference slated for September 18 in Lagos, positions NCRIB at the forefront of reshaping brokerage roles in Nigeria’s digital-first insurance future.
NCRIB’s partnership with IMT—West Africa’s leading platform for industry innovation, policy discourse, and tech integration signals a renewed emphasis on broker-driven transformation in an era of accelerating digital disruption.
The president of NCRIB, Prince Babatunde Oguntade, remarked that insurance brokers remain the trusted bridge between insurers and the public, saying, “In a time of rapid change, our relevance depends on how well we adapt, innovate, and lead. Insurance Meets Tech provides the strategic platform for such engagement and collaboration.”
Oguntade emphasised that NCRIB’s alignment with IMT 4.0 reflects a broader institutional commitment to advancing professionalism and innovation in the sector:
“By partnering with IMT 4.0, we reinforce our mission to deepen professionalism, transparency, and client-centred innovation in the brokerage sector. Brokers must not only be part of the digital conversation—they must lead it,” he averred.
The collaboration also highlights IMT’s expanding reputation as a multi-stakeholder platform shaping the future of insurance in Nigeria. With institutional partners now including NAICOM, CIIN, and NCRIB, the conference is increasingly recognised as a core venue for sectoral alignment.
For his part, Odion Aleobua, convener of IMT and CEO of Modion Communications, lauded the partnership, stating that “NCRIB’s decision to join forces with IMT 4.0 is a strong signal to the industry that brokers are ready to lead from the front. This partnership ensures that the broker’s voice is amplified in the conversations that matter, conversations about innovation, trust, and the future of insurance.”
He asserted that the inclusion of NCRIB marks a pivotal evolution for IMT.
“With this, IMT is solidifying its role as a truly inclusive platform that draws in the full spectrum of the insurance value chain—from regulators to innovators to intermediaries,” he noted.
IMT 4.0 is set to host a diverse array of leaders from across Africa’s insurance, tech, finance, and creative sectors with the conference will feature renowned global insurance innovator, Per Lagerström as the headline speaker, alongside a curated lineup of regional thought leaders.
