BSFA Announces Kick Off Date For Chief Akor Andiir U17 Tourney

The maiden Chief Akor Andiir and Benue State Football Association (BSFA) U17 tournament will kick off on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the JS Tarka Stadium, Gboko.

Chairman, Benue State FA, Barrister Paul Edeh made the announcement on Saturday in Makurdi, adding that the competition will be played across the state to unearth young talented players that will be selected for better opportunity.

Before the announcement, the state FA signed a partnership deal with one of the foremost transports company in the state, Flight Transport Services, which is now the official transports partner of Benue State Football Association.

The U17 football tournament, named after the proprietor of the transport company, Chief Comrade Akor Andiir, will contribute to the development of football in Nigeria by discovering hidden talents for the underage national teams.

The state FA however,  promised to donate medals, giant trophy, and 50 balls in support of the competition.

BSFA chairman, Barrister Paul Edeh, also promised to sponsor the four coaches in the semi-final on free coaching course at the National Institute for Sports.

The organiser announced Monday 15th July, 2024 as the commencement date for the registration of interested clubs, adding that registration closes once the target of twenty teams is achieved.
