The Yobe State governor, Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to deepening stabilization and recovery efforts across the Lake Chad Basin.

Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, at the 8th Project Board Steering Committee Meeting of the Regional Stabilization Facility (RSF) held in Abuja, Governor Buni outlined the state’s steady progress in implementing RSF initiatives and aligning them with the State Action Plan (SAP) on Internal Displacement Solutions.

A statement issued by the Press Secretary to the SSG, Shuibu Abdullahi said Buni noted that Yobe has recorded significant achievements in security, infrastructure, and livelihoods, including the construction of access roads, police posts, and primary healthcare facilities in frontline communities.

“We have institutionalized coordination through four mechanisms, ensuring that stabilization gains are consolidated within state systems and community structures,” the governor said.

He stressed the need for stronger multi-partner coordination, enhanced private sector participation, and more flexible financing to sustain and expand RSF and SAP interventions.

Buni further reaffirmed Yobe State’s readiness to deepen collaboration with the RSF and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to advance durable solutions and long-term peace in the region.
