Yobe State governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has charged the newly appointed emir of Gudi, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka, to promote peace, unity and progress of the people of the emirate, the state, and Nigeria.
The governor made this call yesterday during the formal presentation of the appointment letter at the Gudi Emirate Council.
The commissioner for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Muhammad Bello Kawuwa, presented the letter on behalf of the governor.
While delivering the governor’s message, Prof. Kawuwa highlighted the critical role of traditional institutions in fostering community development, resolving conflicts, and preserving cultural heritage.
He also urged the new emir to carry out these responsibilities with fairness, dignity, and the fear of God.
The presence of top traditional and political leaders underscored the significance of the Gudi Emirate in Yobe’s traditional structure and the shared commitment to supporting the new emir in his leadership role.
The monarch succeeds the late emir, whose passing created a leadership vacuum now filled with renewed hopes and expectations.

He called on the people of his Emirate to continue giving their maximum support and cooperation to the governor, Mai Mala Buni, in the interest of the state in general.
He added, ” I want to use this opportunity to inform you that it is our responsibility to build a new life for the Gudi Emirate. We must work together to promote peace, unity, and moral understanding among our people,” the monarch said.
LEADERSHIP gathered that, in attendance was the Emir of Fika and chairman of the Yobe State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa as well as the emirs of Fune and Shelleng.
