Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has stated that his administration will continue to equip and reposition the Public Service to enhance service delivery and meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

Governor Buni made this statement during the swearing-in of the new Commissioner for Livestock Development, Hon. Yerima Lawan Mahmud, the Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa Shehu, two Special Advisers, Mohammed Bukar Ibrahim and Yahaya Barde, and the Statistician General of the state, Abdulrahman Malik.

He charged Yerima Lawan to inject his wealth of experience into developing the new Ministry to achieve its established goals.

“I wish to reassure livestock farmers that the government will invest heavily in livestock development, especially in the establishment of veterinary clinics, provision of water, development of fodder banks, and vaccination of livestock against transboundary diseases, to exploit the rich livestock potential and make Yobe State Nigeria’s leading livestock production state,” Governor Buni said.

The Governor also urged the new Head of Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa Shehu, to galvanise the civil service to improve productivity and service delivery to the people of the state.

“You are encouraged to promote and reward hard work to all deserving workers without sentiment, enhance teamwork, ensure delegation of responsibilities, and champion transparency and due process in conducting government business,” he stated.

He noted that the government would continue to prioritise capacity building to enhance productivity and service delivery.
