Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (rtd) has visited Katsina State to condole the Yar’Adua family following the passing of their matriarch, Hajiya Habiba Dada Musa ‘Yar’adua.
Buratai was received by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua and the chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Alhaji Mustapha and Maj. Gen. Abubakar Adamu (rtd) after which prayers were offered for the repose of Hajiya Dada’s soul, asking for Allah’s continuous blessings and protection over the family and the enduring legacy she left behind.
Buratai, also a former Nigerian ambassador to the Republic of Benin, described the late Hajiya Dada as a mother anyone would wish to have, whose legacy of strength, humility and dedication to her family and community was quite outstanding.
He emphasized that her positive influence would be deeply missed by all who knew her and encouraged the family to take solace and pride in the indelible mark she left on Nigeria’s history.
In his response, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua expressed profound gratitude to the former COAS for his presence and kind words. He commended the former Army boss for his contributions to national development, peace, and security.
The senator also highlighted Buratai’s compassion and dedication to the welfare of troops and veterans both in service and at retirement.
The former COAS was accompanied on the condolence visit by Brigadier General SK Usman (rtd), Alhaji Aminu Balele and Alhaji Ibrahim Danfulani, among others.
