The programme titled: ‘For The Love of The Country’ Conference set to take place on May 29, 2025, in Kano, has the theme: ‘Reimagining Nigeria’s Economy for a Prosperous Future: Where We Were, Where We Are, and Where We Should Be in the Next Decade,’ and will highlight the nation’s economic progress, assess its current challenges, and chart a sustainable path for future growth.

The organiser stated that, “following successful editions in Abuja and Lagos in the past four years, the decision to host this year’s conference in Kano is a strategic one recognising the city’s historic role as a center for trade, commerce, and industry.

Kano has long been a key driver of Nigeria’s economy, with its thriving agricultural, textile, and manufacturing sectors, making it an ideal location for this crucial national discourse.”

She emphasised that, “this edition of the conference is designed to spark conversations that will go beyond rhetoric and lead to tangible policy shifts and economic initiatives that benefit not just Kano, but the entire nation.”

Odjenima also highlighted the importance of youth and women’s participation in economic growth, stating, “Nigeria’s future depends on how well we empower our youth and women to take leadership roles in business, governance, and industry. By bringing this conference to Kano, we aim to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and policymakers who will drive Nigeria’s economic resurgence.”

The conference will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State; the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II; economist and former deputy governor of CBN, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu and Ibukun Awosika, business leader & former chairman of First Bank of Nigeria.

These distinguished personalities will engage in conversations on industrialisation, agriculture, technology, entrepreneurship, security, and youth empowerment—key areas that will shape Nigeria’s economic prosperity over the next decade.

As Nigeria faces economic challenges such as rising inflation, unemployment, and infrastructural deficits, this conference aims to provide actionable solutions that will drive sustainable development, attract investment, create employment opportunities, and strengthen key industries. It will serve as a platform for innovative policy recommendations, business collaborations, and knowledge-sharing to enhance economic stability and global competitiveness.

Beyond panel discussions, the conference will facilitate networking opportunities between industry leaders, government officials, and young entrepreneurs, fostering collaborations that will contribute to national growth.
