Francis Njoku, an Indrive cab driver, has threatened to sue actress Adunni Ade following allegations of theft involving a package. The conflict arose after the driver allegedly refused to deliver Ade’s package upon completing the trip.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Adunni accused the driver of taking off with her package and ignoring her calls. “@indrive.ng, I have contacted you for hours but received no response. One of your drivers has stolen my package. He ended the trip before getting to me and has not picked up my calls,” she wrote.
Her post sparked outrage among users, many of whom condemned the ride-hailing service for the incident.
In a follow-up post, Adunni revealed that Njoku eventually delivered her package after the company locked his profile. She also shared screenshots of her conversations with Njoku and her fashion designer, who sent out the package.
In the shared screenshots, Njoku confronted her for allegedly damaging his reputation and threatened legal action. “You have tarnished my image, and I have contacted my legal team. We will see you in court. You are not the person who requested the ride. Many human rights lawyers and activists have reached out to me, and I will not let this go unaddressed. You must issue an unreserved apology and request Instablog to pull the post down.”
In response to the threat, Adunni Ade stated, “One thing about me is that I don’t lie or cheat my fellow beings. When we speak of change, let it start with you. In all my years of using delivery and logistics services, I have never encountered anyone as rude, ill-mannered, arrogant, uncivilized, and entitled as Francis Njoku.
