The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced an increment in prize money for this year’s Women’s Champions League.

The new increment, published on CAF official website on Thursday, sees a 52% rise in the cash prize for all teams who qualified for the 2024 edition to be held in Morocco this month.

CAF first introduced prize money for the competition in 2022 after the inaugural edition, which did not offer cash prizes to the competing teams.

In the last two editions, each team walked away with a cash prize of $100,000. While the eventual winners got $400,000.00, the runners-up and semifinalists took home $250,000.00 and $200,000.00 respectively.

With the new increment, each team is assured at least $150,000.00 while the winner is expected to claim $600,000.00 as prize money.

The runners-up and third place team will be rewarded with $400,000 and $350,000 respectively, while the fourth-place team will get $300,000.

Nigerian champions, Edo Queens will be making their maiden appearance at the competition.
