The 2024 CAF Awards final three nominees for Men’s Player of the Year and Women’s Player of the Year will be unveiled today, December 12 ahead of Monday, December 16, glittering event taking place in Marrakech, Morocco, where the finest African footballers, coaches and administrators on the planet will gather to crown the best of the best.
Brighton & Hove Albion winger Simon Adingra (Ivory Coast), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea/Borussia Dortmund), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain), Ademola Lookman (Nigeria/Atalanta) and Ronwen Williams (South Africa/Mamelodi Sundowns) made the final five-man shortlist announced last month and are all lined up for the CAF Awards 2024 Player of the Year Top Prize
Williams, who placed ninth in the Yashin Trophy, the award that crowns the best goalkeeper in the world at the Ballon d’Or, has also been shortlisted in the Goalkeeper of the Year category.
Zambia’s Barbra Banda leads the women’s five-player shortlist for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award for spectacular goal-poaching abilities for the club and country.
The other four outstanding women who have been shortlisted for the prestigious CAF Women’s Player of the Year include the dynamic sisters Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga (Malawi), Sanaâ Mssoudy (Morocco) and Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria).
The respective women’s and men’s awards shortlists will be whittled down to three nominees on Thursday.
