A calibration flight carrying seven aviation experts has arrived at Gusau International Airport, marking another milestone towards the full operationalisation of the airport.
The flight landed on Monday, August 17, 2026.
Officials who received the team include the Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Amiru Musa Anka; Managing Director of the Airport, Alhaji Kabir Yahaya Gusau; and Project Principal Consultant, Engr. Begha Inyamkume, alongside other stakeholders.
In a statement issued by the Information Officer of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Jamilu Bello, the experts are in Zamfara to conduct calibration and flight-checks of newly installed navigational and communication equipment.
According to the statement, the exercise is to verify the accuracy, reliability and compliance of the equipment with required aviation and safety standards.
The ministry said the arrival of the calibration flight demonstrates steady progress towards the commencement of safe, reliable and efficient air transportation services at the airport.
