Super Falcons head coach, Justine Madugu, has outlined his objectives for the upcoming double-header friendlies against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses.
These matches will be crucial for the African champions as they prepare for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Originally, Nigeria was slated to participate in the WAFU B invitational tournament, but this was cancelled following Ghana’s withdrawal.
The fixtures against long-standing rivals Cameroon now provide an essential opportunity to assess the squad.
Madugu has extended invitations to several new players and recalled experienced stars such as Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene and Chidinma Okeke.
He stated, “The key objective is to try and ensure that we improve on the team cohesion, and try as much as possible to look at new players that can possibly give us new options before the WAFCON.”
The first friendly will take place at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé this Saturday, with the second match scheduled at the same venue next Tuesday.
