Nollywood actress Carolyna Hutchings has called out Olayinka Ashogbon, the owner of Ash Luxury on social media, following a life threatening encounter at the Ashluxury store in Lekki, Lagos, which also involved veteran actress Shan George and three other individuals.
According to Hutchings, she took Shan George on a ride to her destination but was unable to get to the location due to traffic.
She then ordered an Uber and parked in front of an Ashluxe store to wait for the ride to come pick her colleague, less than 15mins. Despite there being no visible ‘No Parking Signs’, inadequate lighting and no apparent security measures, they were aggressively comforted by men in plain clothes. The men, who were reportedly security personnel, threatened to damage their car, banged on their doors, and use tear gas at them directly into their car while Dr Carolyna and Shan George were sitted.
Some minutes after, a man came to their car and ordered them to leave the premises.
Carolyna noted that her spy policeman pleaded but the man insisted and called the firm’s police on them.
Two men came, hurling insults at them and insisted they leave before spraying teargas on them.
In a post on her Instagram page she wrote, “There was no violence or weapon from my side, the man who claimed to be a policeman was only wearing a white kaftan and intentionally sprayed tear gas at me, Shan George and other occupants of the vehicle, he later went into the ash luxury premises to change to his police uniform and brought out a gun to shoot’ She said.
Shan George also raised concerns about potential underlying health issues, calling for a thorough investigation into the store’s practices.
She has lamented about her distress and demanded accountability for the incident.
Hutchings has criticized Ashogbon for his lack of outreach and concern for their well-being.
According to her, there has been no public or private apology or acknowledgment from the brand regarding the life-threatening event.
Carolyna’s instagram story from yesterday revealed she was hospitalized following the incident.
