The Tomatoes Sellers Association Chairman, Malam Tameem Husain Danja, has appealed to the Minister of the Federal Territory, Abuja Nyesome Wike, to use his good office and reopen 135 out of 140 lock-up shops.

The Chairman said the shops should be allocated to the original owners.

Speaking in Abuja, the Chairman said the owners were also victims of the 1995 demolition of Wuse Market, as they were compensated by the former Head of State, the late Sani Abacha.

The association said they wrote two letters in May and October 2024, which the Office of the Honorable Minister received but is yet to act on their request.

Tameem said he is optimistic that the FCT Minister, a man of justice and order, will finally address their issue. He knows he can take action in the end, benefiting them through Abuja Investment Company.
