Caring Hearts Initiative (CHI) of the International Church of Christ (ICOC) Nigeria unveiled its new project, ‘Heroes of CHI’, aimed at raising funds for its Early Childhood Development (ECD) program.
Speaking at the event to unveil the initiative, the board chairman, Elder Imagbe Igbinoba stated that, “we are gathered here not just as individuals, but as a community with a common purpose to further drive the aims and objectives of CHI since inception.”
He highlighted some of the key focus, which include provision of support for over 123 vulnerable children in nursery and primary schools, bursaries and scholarships for 32 tertiary institution students, and essential monthly drug and food support for 950 vulnerable children from 360 households.
He added that,” your presence here is a testament to your dedication and support which plays a crucial role in turning our vision into reality.”
A CHI Board member, Anthony Osakwe, introduced the purpose of the fundraising event, reiterating the importance of the ECD program, which focuses on the holistic development of children from prenatal to age six/eight, encompassing their physical, cognitive, linguistic, socio-emotional, and spiritual growth.
Sola Scott, a board member while presenting the mechanics of the raffle, submitted that the goal is to raise at least N30 million through the sale of 30,000 tickets, structured into booklets containing 20 tickets each.
He noted that the funds raised will support the ECD program’s various initiatives, saying an innovative aspect of this fundraising effort is the all-digital payment method, allowing contributions from Nigerians and the people in diaspora in any currency, with cash payments not being entertained.
The raffle draw event which is scheduled for November 13, 2024, promises to be an exciting culmination to this impactful initiative.
With the unwavering support of the community, CHI continues to drive the change it wishes to see, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow and thrive in a nurturing environment.
The International Church of Christ (ICOC) Nigeria, through CHI, remains committed to its mission of making a tangible difference in the lives of the most vulnerable, for one child at a time.
