The Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA) has raised a fresh alarm over renewed attacks by Boko Haram in Kautikari town and the surrounding communities in Chibok local government area of Borno State.

It called for immediate intervention by the federal government and the international community.

In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Abuja, KADA national president, Nkeki Mutah and national general secretary, Ayuba Chiroma, expressed concern over what they described as coordinated and recurring attacks on Kibaku communities.

The association said the persistent assaults had created widespread fear among the residents, forcing many to flee their homes and worsening the humanitarian situation in the area.

According to the statement, “the situation in Kautikari and other Kibaku communities has become dire, with continuous attacks disrupting livelihoods, destroying property, and deepening the humanitarian crisis.”

KADA noted that residents of the affected communities have endured prolonged hardship with little relief, urging security agencies to take swift and decisive action.

“KADA is calling on the Federal Government, security agencies, and the international community to act swiftly to halt these attacks and ensure the safe return of displaced residents,” the statement said.

The group also appealed to humanitarian organisations to scale up assistance for displaced persons, particularly women and children, whom it described as the most vulnerable.

It further urged stakeholders to prioritise the security of Chibok and surrounding communities, noting that sustainable peace is essential for rebuilding affected areas and restoring normalcy.

KADA reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the safety and welfare of the Kibaku people, while calling for collective efforts to end insurgency in the region.
