In a landmark achievement for Nigeria’s presence on the global pageant scene, Chidi Udengwu has been crowned Mister Universe Nigeria 2025, becoming the country’s first-ever representative to compete at the international Mister Universe competition scheduled to hold in the United States later this year.

Udengwu, who emerged as one of the Top six finalists at the Misters of Nigeria 2025 grand finale held on May 11 at the MUSON Centre in Lagos, was selected from a pool of 21 contestants representing diverse regions across the country. His victory marked a defining moment not only for the competition but for Nigeria’s foray into global male pageantry.

Born and raised in the United States to Nigerian immigrant parents from Enugu State, Udengwu brings a dynamic background to the title. A law enforcement professional, athlete, and model, he is celebrated for his unique blend of discipline, ambition, and cultural pride.

Speaking after his win, Udengwu reflected on the values that shaped his journey. “I come from a family rooted in purpose and achievement. My brother, Nnadi, is in the medical field, and my sister, Chika, is an attorney. Their success and the values instilled in us by our parents have always pushed me to strive for more,” he said.

Now wearing the Mister Universe Nigeria sash, Udengwu is set to represent not just a title, but the aspirations of a generation. His story, bridging both Nigerian heritage and international exposure, positions him as a powerful ambassador on the global stage.

The Misters of Nigeria organisation, now widely regarded as the nation’s premier male pageant platform, continues to redefine pageantry by prioritizing substance, mission, and cultural identity. This year’s event highlighted this ethos, emphasizing not just physical presence but the contestants’ ability to inspire and lead.

“Chidi’s emergence as our first Mister Universe Nigeria is a game-changer,” said a spokesperson for the Misters of Nigeria team. “He embodies everything we believe the modern Nigerian man should represent courage, intellect, and a deep connection to both his roots and global identity.”
