China-based Nigerian Activist Dan Bello Detained, Released At Kano Airport

Popular social media activist, Bello Habib Galadanci, better known as Dan Bello, was briefly arrested by security operatives on his arrival into the country on Saturday at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano.

Eyewitnesses said a group of operatives approached the China-based activist and escorted him away, leaving onlookers puzzled.

However, he was thereafter released after a few minutes in custody. No official explanation has been given by security agencies regarding the reason for his detention.

 

However, reassuring the public thereafter, prominent lawyer and close associate of Dan Bello, Abba Hikima, posted a picture of himself and the activist shortly after the incident on his Facebook page with the caption “Guys, we’re good!”, suggesting that he had been released.
