Nigerian singer Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, popularly known as Chike, has opened up about the relationship advice his mother gave him, warning him not to marry a woman without a job.
The singer shared these details during a recent interview on the Ada’s Room podcast.
He said his mother taught him that a life partner should bring more to a marriage than just emotional feelings.
Chike explained that marrying someone who cannot support themselves or who has too many financial burdens can cause long-term problems.
“Personally, my mum advised me never to settle down with a woman who doesn’t have a source of livelihood regardless of love,” he said.
The artiste added that he now uses this advice to judge potential relationships by looking beyond beauty and asking about a partner’s productivity.
