A Port Harcourt-based cleric, Reverend Stanley Nwaozuzu, has described Christmas as a season of love, reconciliation and forgiveness.
Nwaozuzu, who is the lead pastor of Amen Gracious Ministries International, disclosed this while speaking with LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
He said: “The love is all about giving; the love is all about sacrifice; the love is all about commitment. Love is not alone something. It is something that if it is money that you have, you extend to your neighbours, to your parents, to your family, to your people.
“That is what God did. He gave his best and we are supposed to give our best to our friends, to our family, to our people today. That is what Christmas Day entails; it is a special day all over the world to remember the birth of our lord, Jesus Christ.
“It is a special day for people to look inwards and forgive anyone that has offended them.
It is a day of reconciliation. It is a day for children to recognise the roles of their parents in their lives. It is a day of honouring fathers in the Lord. It is a day of joy.”
Nwaozuzu stated that the Yuletide season is the reawakening of a spirit that recognizes the supremacy of God, through his son, Jesus Christ.
The cleric said, “The Yuletide season is the reawakening of a spirit that recognizes God’s supremacy through his son, Jesus Christ, a gift He has given to mankind.
“Though it is not ascertained that Jesus was born on December 25, today is a day recognized all over the world to remember the birth of our lord, Jesus Christ. It shows the absolute love that God has for his people. John 3:16.”
