Two aspirants for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) for the November 8, 2025 Anambra State governorship election, Sir Paul Chukwuma and former House of Representatives member, Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, have withdrawn from the party’s primary.
Sir Chukwuma’s resignation came in his Umueri, Anambra East local government country home while addressing hundreds of his supporters from across the 326 wards including ward chairmen, stakeholders and members of his governorship campaign organisation.
Umeoji stated his withdrawal from the contest in a letter to that effect made available to newsmen yesterday evening.
He stated that he would continue to support President Bola Tinubu, his New Hope Agenda, and the crusade to connect Anambra to the federal government.
He said, “I cannot continue to work with unprogressive leadership of the APC in Anambra State. But I will continue to support President Bola Tinubu, and will make sure Tinubu’s electoral popularity in the state will be raised above five percent in the 2027 general elections. I am no longer a card carrying member of the APC. I did not disassociate myself from making Anambra better.
It is only a coward that would be taken for granted and toyed with”, Chukwuma told newsmen after addressing his supporters.
