Zion Flames Ministries has marked its fifth anniversary with a humanitarian outreach to widows and orphans in Ayobo, Lagos State.
The faith-based organisation reached out to more than 300 widows and orphans, distributing essential relief materials to ease their hardship during the Christmas season.
The items shared at the event included bags of rice, assorted foodstuffs and clothing, aimed at meeting the immediate needs of the beneficiaries.
Speaking with newsmen after the presentation, the senior pastor of Zion Flames Ministries, Apostle Momo Promise, said the outreach reflected the ministry’s commitment to compassion, service and community development.
He said the anniversary was not only a moment of celebration but also an opportunity to give back to those in vulnerable situations within society.
“The essence of our calling is to serve humanity and demonstrate God’s love through practical acts of kindness. Widows and orphans, who are among the most vulnerable, remain a priority for us,” he said.
The pastor noted that the ministry had continued to expand its humanitarian programmes since its establishment, touching lives through welfare support, prayers, counselling and community engagement.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as timely and encouraging in the face of prevailing economic challenges.
One of the recipients, Mrs Ajileye, a widow, said the support brought relief and renewed hope.
“Zion Flames has put smiles on my face. I thank God because I am a widow who has not been forgotten,” she said.
Zion Flames Ministries added that similar outreach programmes had been carried out this year in Uganda and Cameroon, extending its impact beyond Nigeria.
The organisation called on individuals, corporate bodies and well-meaning Nigerians to support its efforts to uplift the needy and promote community development across Lagos State and beyond.
