The Obol Lopon of Nko community in Yakurr local government area of Cross River State, His Royal Highness (HRH), Obol Effiom Ayombi, has conferred the chieftaincy title of “Obol Kedei 1 of Nko” on the state’s commissioner for Environment, Moses Osoghi.

The ceremony, attended by the council of chiefs, marked Osoghi’s recognition for his selfless service to Nko and his contributions to Governor Bassey Otu’s administration.

Speaking at the investiture, Ayomobi said the title was being awarded on the strength of Osoghi’s track record of dedication to the community. “Osoghi has shown so much love to the people of Nko,” the monarch declared.

“We have also heard good stories about the value he has added to Governor Otu’s government.”

As symbols of the honour, the chief presented Osoghi with a royal cap, a staff of office, a hand‑bangle and a neck‑chain fashioned with bristle bits, all signifying his new authority as a king‑maker in the Nko Ndo Lopon Kingdom.

He expressed gratitude to the monarchs and pledged to redouble his efforts in serving the community.

“We receive this title with humility and pledge to redouble our efforts in serving the community,” Ofem said, signing the certificate of recognition on Osoghi’s behalf.

“This honour belongs to God Almighty and to my boss, Governor Bassey Otu, whose support made this possible,” Ofem said, signing the certificate of recognition on Osoghi’s behalf.
