Elder statesman and leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Clark, has called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to expel the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over alleged anti-party activities.

In an open letter addressed to the party’s leadership, Chief Clark expressed deep concern over Wike’s recent actions and statements, which he claims are damaging to the unity and stability of PDP.

He accused Wike of leveraging his close relationship with President Bola Tinubu to intimidate Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the party’s leadership.

Speaking at a press briefing in his Abuja residence, Clark stated that he could no longer remain silent while Wike allegedly continues to harass the governor.

He highlighted what he described as “obvious anti-party activities” by Wike, which have reportedly sent shockwaves across the country.

Clark’s letter also referenced a recent report by This Day newspaper, which detailed an incident where the PDP’s national legal adviser, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), was allegedly sidelined by the party’s acting national chairman and national secretary in legal matters.

According to the report, Ajibade was “shocked” by their actions, which were seen as counter to the processes he had filed in court.

“After conceding that former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili and his wife made him what he is today and for which he will forever be grateful, he is now abusing them. I won’t allow him to destroy Rivers State.

“This same man, Wike, who said before, that APC is cancer-free or something like that. And abuses everything about APC. Is now dancing Tinubu’s song. Even in the kitchen of the chief of staff of President Tinubu. Wike talked about structures, talking about structures, who is Wike to talk about structures?,” Clark declared.

The elder statesman further accused Wike of attempting to destabilise the Rivers State government led by Governor Fubara, claiming that Wike, emboldened by his ties to the Presidency, is using his influence to intimidate party members, especially those in Rivers State who oppose him.

Clark also condemned Wike’s recent confrontations with senior party leaders, including Senator Adolphus Wabara, chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees.

According to Clark, Wike sent a threatening and insulting letter to Wabara after he called for disciplinary action against members involved in anti-party activities.

The letter, written in red ink, reportedly contained unprintable language and threats, further aggravating the party’s internal tensions.

In his conclusion, Clark urged the acting national chairman to establish a probe panel to investigate Wike’s activities and, if found guilty, impose appropriate sanctions, including expulsion from the party.

He called on all responsible PDP elders and members to stand against Wike’s alleged attempts to undermine the party, warning that failure to act decisively could endanger the future of the PDP.
