A pastor of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ark of God Gospel Outreach, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, Prophet Afolabi Clement, has expressed concern over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, urging the government to take immediate action to address insecurity nationwide.
According to Afolabi, while speaking during a ministration at his church yesterday, many Nigerians now live in fear due to the activities of bandits and kidnappers, making both residents and travellers feel unsafe. He noted that the loss of lives resulting from violent attacks has deprived families of loved ones and cut short the dreams, visions, and aspirations of many citizens.
The cleric stated that those being killed could have gone on to make significant contributions to national development, adding that some might have become future leaders, innovators, or other prominent figures in society.
He called on the government to intensify efforts to tackle insecurity before the situation worsens, warning that continued loss of lives could have serious consequences for the nation’s future. He also highlighted the emotional and psychological impact on families who have lost relatives to violence.
Afolabi urged authorities to implement effective measures to restore security and peace, expressing hope that the government would succeed in its efforts to combat criminal activities.
The pastor further called on Nigerians to return to God and embrace prayer, stressing the importance of faith alongside practical efforts to address insecurity. He warned that if the security challenges are not resolved promptly, many destinies and opportunities could be lost.
He appealed for an end to killings and kidnappings across the country, emphasising the need for a peaceful and secure environment for all citizens.
