A former national organising secretary of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Alhaji Taofik Isah, has said no amount of gang up by opposition leaders can stop the second term bid of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

Isah spoke in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, after the formal reception of some opposition members into the ruling APC.

His position was corroborated by the national coordinator, South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), Mr. Belusochukwu Enwere, who said Tinubu’s imprint in the South East geopolitical region speaks volume.

Enwere, who spoke at the inauguration of the group in Ebonyi State,  noted that youths across the region were in support  of  Tinubu for another term.

Isah, a former ALGON chairman in Kogi State, said the coalition was dead on arrival.

According to Isah, who is the director-general (DG)  of Kogi State Utility, Infrastructure Management and Compliance Agency (KUIMCA), said the defection of very notable opposition leaders of Okun extraction, was a clear testament that the APC in Kogi State and by extension Nigeria was comfortable and had nothing to worry about.

He particularly lauded the defection of the minority leader in the state House of Assembly, Hon Ibikunle Idowu,  declaring that there is no vacancy in Aso Rock and by extension the Lugard House in Kogi State.

He said the president had put in place far reaching reforms to ensure development of all sectors of the economy.

The  former director-general of the Kogi State Project Monitoring Agency, while emphasising the declaration by the former governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, during the decamping ceremony that there is no vacancy in Aso Rock, stressed that there is no vacancy in Lugard House also come 2027.

“His Excellency, the former governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has said no vacancy in Aso Rock. And I want to tell everybody that, even in Kogi State, there is no vacancy in Lugard House. My mentor has spoken, it is left for we, the field workers, to implement and execute it,” he said.

Addressing the South East group, Enwere said the coalition being spearheaded by some politicians in the country cannot stop Tinubu’s reelection.

He described Southeast Renewed Hope Agenda as a social, political entity, made up of progressive Nigerians from Southeast, consisting of men, women, youth, and of all faiths, organisations, tribes, and ethnicities cutting across all the strata of southeast.

“The establishment of Southeast Development Commission is an opportunity for us and indeed people to come and join for the election of our dear President”, he said

The Ebonyi State Coordinator of SERHA, Mr. James Alaka, in his remarks, assured that the state will ensure the reelection of President Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

He commended the President for his inclusive leadership and commitment towards addressing the teething challenges confronting south east which he said reflects a renewed commitment to equity, competence and national development.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has in the past two years, laid a solid foundation for economic revitalization with signs of progress, already visible. He has shown courage, determination and a clear vision in steering the country towards recovery and growth,” he said.
