He made the call on Wednesday when he received the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, who paid him a courtesy call at the Government House, Damaturu.

Governor Buni said that the government and people of Yobe State would continue to support the Army and all other security agencies in the state to succeed in the war against terrorism.

According to him, the issue of security is a collective responsibility, adding that, “we will do everything possible to ensure the success of the fight against insecurity.”

He also commended the military for their resilience and commitment to securing the country.

Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff Oluyede assured the governor that the Army would deploy more troops and equipment to Yobe State to improve security in the state.

He assured that the Army would do everything possible for the improvement of security in all parts of the country.

The COAS urged Nigerians to always support the Army with credible information to effectively combat the challenges threatening security across the country.

He added that, “I want to inform you that we cannot afford to allow the Sahara experience into this country, we must collectively rise to the occasion to fight the ugly scourge.

“Having worked very hard and achieved peace in Yobe as a Commander, I cannot sit and watch that peace eroded as a Chief of Army Staff now,” the COAS stated.
