The managing director of Coleman Wires and Cable Industries Limited, Mr. George Onafowokan said, the company has partnered NOG Energy Week 2024 to enhance awareness about the impact of local content and the growing capacity in the manufacturing industry.
Onafowokan, in an interview, highlighted that Coleman Wires and Cable Industries Limited’s partnership with the NOG conference is driven by the significant impact of their products in the oil and gas sector.
He noted that Coleman now produces 100 percent of specialised oil and gas cables in Nigeria, reducing the need for imports, saying, “all gas-related cables are produced by Coleman. Cables that were previously imported for oil and gas projects are now being manufactured locally by us. This has been a key focus over the last three to five years, leading to our active participation with NOG and the oil and gas sector.”
Onafowokan emphasised that creating awareness about locally sourced products and building local content capacity significantly benefits the industry.
He underscored the importance of the conference in shaping the company’s strategic investments, noting that, “the discussions on local content over the years have guided our investments, enabling us to develop the capacity that drives our business in instrumentation and other areas. Meeting other industry players at NOG has had a direct impact on our strategic investments.
He also highlighted, “the potential for developing more capacity in gas projects, energy, and the manufacturing sector. There are significant opportunities in these areas, including energy renewal, that we aim to explore.”
