Commit To Hard Work, School Director Tasks Students

The Director of Hope Hall private school, Pyakasa, Abuja, Nketim Bassey has urged students to embrace hard work and maintain focus as they transition to the next phase of their lives.

Speaking at the graduation/speech and award ceremony of the school over the weekend, Bassey emphasised that the path ahead will demand even greater dedication and perseverance.

“They need to be focused, resilient and be hard working because hard work pays. They need to pay attention to details. There is no short cut in life.

“As students, its continuous learning. Graduating today doesn’t mean education has ended, there is always room for improvement.”

Speaking on his plan for the school in the next five years, Bassey said he intend to expand to higher learning institution.

“We are focusing on having a boarding school and having a university because Hope Hall is a government approved and we have been in the business for the past ten years so we are grounded and focus also.
“We have been full of improvement and we are evolving. Though there are challenges here and there but we have surmounted a lot of them because when we started we were like a sheep without a shepherd but God has been there for us.

“We are also grateful to the parents who have been supportive even from inception. We are grateful that today we are in our permanent site and it’s not been easy. Today we have been given approval to write all government examinations including WAEC and NECO and we are just graduating our first set of SS3,” he added.
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion and keynote speaker, Dr. (Mrs) Uzor Chioma emphasised the power of transformative of education, stressing the need of parents to inculcate values in the children as the first point of contact.

She also stressed the need to acknowledge the challenges facing Nigeria’s education education sector.

According to her, the issue of out of school challenge highlighted the urgent need for a collective action, saying that when children are educated families strives and the society strive too.
“Today, as we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduands let’s us continue the champion the course of education,” she added.
