Italian women’s club Como 1907 have announced the arrival of former Super Falcons centre-back Osinachi Ohale on a permanent free transfer. The 34-year-old moves to the Serie A side after ending her three-year stay with Mexican outfit Pachuca.
Ohale made 81 league outings for Pachuca and scored six goals. Her move to Como marks a return to Italian football, where she previously played for AS Roma in 2020.
The defender expressed enthusiasm about the new chapter, saying she is pleased to be back in Italy and ready to carry out the coach’s instructions to help the team.
Como’s women’s technical director, Nils Nielsen, said Ohale’s experience will be important. He highlighted her long international career with Nigeria, including spells as captain, and praised her defensive positioning, marking and aerial strength.
Ohale turned professional in Nigeria in 2008 and has since played in the United States, Sweden, Italy, Spain and Mexico. With Nigeria, she featured for more than 15 years, captained the Super Falcons and won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations five times. She announced her retirement from international football last month.
