The Phase II of the Comrade Mustapha Salihu Youth Empowerment Programme has been officially launched in Yola, Adamawa State, marking another milestone in the ongoing efforts to promote youth development and economic empowerment across the state.
The second phase features a special capacity-building workshop designed to equip young people with practical skills for self-reliance and entrepreneurship. The programme is being coordinated by Hon. Bello Baballo, who reaffirmed the initiative’s commitment to creating opportunities for youths to achieve sustainable livelihoods.
The workshop provided participants with hands-on training in various trades and vocational skills. To ensure effective participation, the youths were divided into five groups, each focusing on a trade of their choice. Upon completion of the training, each group will receive a start-up grant from the organizers to support the establishment and growth of their business ventures.
Participants also benefited from lectures on business management, covering essential topics such as enterprise planning, financial literacy, and the fundamentals of developing a viable business plan—key elements for successful entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the initiative’s progress, Comrade Mustapha Salihu noted that the empowerment programme is part of his long-term vision to tackle youth unemployment and foster innovation among young people in Adamawa State.
It would be recalled that in September 2025, Comrade Salihu launched the first phase of the programme, during which five beneficiaries each received ₦1 million to start their businesses. Building on that success, another set of young beneficiaries have now received ₦500,000 each under the second phase of the empowerment initiative.
The Phase II beneficiaries of the ₦1 million start-up grant include:
1. Modi Adamu Gadafali
2. Mohammed Malpetel Modibboo
3. Ibrahim Musa Zubairu
4. Ado Bello Jimeta
5. Haruna Abdultawab
6. Ramson Adiel Nahunleyi
7. Hon. Faiza Abubakar

The Comrade Mustapha Salihu Youth Empowerment Programme continues to serve as a beacon of hope for many young Nigerians, driving skills development, entrepreneurship, and economic inclusion across the state.
