Ajaokuta, Kogi State | October 29th, 2025 — In a strong show of corporate social responsibility, West African Ceramics Ltd, manufacturers of the ROYAL brand of Vitrified, ceramic and porcelain tiles, has commissioned a 30,000-litre overhead water facility for the Oguro community in Ajaokuta, Kogi State.
For decades, Oguro residents depended on the River Niger as their main water source, facing health risks and daily struggles to access safe water. That changed on October 29, 2025, when the company officially handed over a modern water facility equipped with a treatment, and purification system, connecting to Niger River, designed to ensure year-round supply of clean water.
Speaking at the commissioning, Mr. Franklin Jose, Managing Director of West African Ceramics Ltd, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to community development:
“At ROYAL, we measure success not only by the quality of our products but by the difference we make in people’s lives. The Oguro Water Project reflects our commitment to building a sustainable future.”
Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, Member of the House of Representatives for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Chief Guest for the event, along with other dignitaries lauded the initiative, describing it as “a model of responsible corporate citizenship that improves lives and drives community growth.”
The project forms part of ROYAL’s broader CSR vision centered on community welfare, sustainability, education, and empowerment – a reminder that true progress flows through compassion, partnership, and shared growth.
