The Crime Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CCAN) had congratulated CSP Benjamin Hundeyin on his appointment as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
CCAN in a statement signed by its chairman, Sam Ogbeifun, said over the years, CSP Hundeyin had distinguished himself as a seasoned communicator with a proven capacity to build mutual understanding between the police and the public as well as fostering a transparent flow of information to strengthen trust and accountability.
“As crime correspondents and critical stakeholders in the security and justice sectors, we are confident that your wealth of experience, coupled with your rich academic and professional background, will further enhance the cordial relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the media.
“We also believe that the new FPRO will deepen the culture of openness, inclusivity and prompt response to constant media engagements needed for effective policing and credible public relations,” the association said.
It promised to support the spokesman’s office in the collective task of informing the public, shaping positive narratives and projecting the giant strides of the force in the fight against crime, law enforcement, and internal security management.
