The Kano State High Court, headed by Justice Amina Aliyu, has fixed Thursday for the hearing of applications in the ongoing case instituted by the state attorney-general, the Kano House of Assembly, and the Speaker of the Assembly on the removal of Aminu Ado Bayero as emir.

The applicants are seeking an order to restrain Bayero and four others from parading themselves as traditional rulers in the state.

The respondents are the 15th Emir Ado-Bayero, Alhaji Nasiru Ado-Bayero (Bichi emir), Dr Ibrahim Abubakar ll (emir of Karaye), Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad-Inuwa (emir of Rano) and Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim-Gaya (emir of Gaya).

Others are the Inspector-General of Police, Director State Security Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and Nigeria Army.

At the resumed hearing on all pending applications, on Tuesday, Counsel to the applicants, Mr Eyitayo Fatogun (SAN) told the court that he was served with five processes on July 1, at about 6:30 p.m by the first respondent and have filed all responses.

Therefore, he urged the court to give them a 30-minute standdown to enable them to serve their response to the respondent.

The trial judge, however, adjourned the matter to July 4th for a hearing of all pending applications and originating motions.
