Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Lagos State Special Offences Court has convicted and sentenced three domestic staff, Genesis Ezebong 24, and two others, Micheal Ezebong 28, and Ikade Moses 29 to life imprisonment for armed robbery.

Justice Taiwo jailed the convicts for the rest of their lives after she found them guilty of a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery brought against them by the state government.

The convicts were arraigned before the court on December 18, 2020, while the trial commenced on January 11, 2022.

The prosecutor, Mrs. Omowumi Bajulaye informed the court, during the trial, that the convicts committed the offense of conspiracy and armed robbery on January 13, 2019, at No 222 Ikorodu Road, Palm Groove, Lagos.

Bajulaye had also told the court that the convict while armed with a cutlass, shovel, and other dangerous weapons robbed Daniel of one Compact Laptop, one Apple Laptop, Gold and costumes, Jewelry, Blackberry Phones, one Digital Camera, Soccer Shoes, and two other phones belonging to one Akeredolu Titilope.

She further stated that the offences violated Section 297 (2) (a) of the Criminal Law, Ch. C17, Vol. 3, Laws of Lagos State 2015 and Section 299 of the Criminal Law, Ch. C17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The lawyer called three witnesses and tendered documents such as the defendant’s statements which were admitted as exhibits.
