Justice Peter Kekemeke of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Maitama, has remanded the former chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar, at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
He is to remain in custody pending the hearing of his bail application.
Umar pleaded not guilty to the charges against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC), which arraigned him on a 4-count charge of conferring undue advantage on himself while serving as the chairman of the CCT.
The prosecuting counsel, Christopher Mshelia, prayed the court to fix a date for trial.
Umar told the court of his bail application and urged the court to take the application but the prosecution insisted that they had just been served with the application and would need time to respond.
Justice Kekemeke adjourned the matter to 15th July for the hearing of the bail application.
