Court Sentences Man To 2-yr Jail Term Over Attempt To Stab Father In Kano

A Magistrate Court sitting in the Mai Alluna area of Kano State has sentenced a young man to two years imprisonment for attempting to stab his father with a pair of scissors.

The incident occurred in the Fagge area of the state, following a disagreement between the accused and his father over money.

According to the police, the young man attempted to attack his father after he was denied money for personal use.

The convict was consequently arraigned on charges of assault, attempted murder, and unlawful possession of a weapon which he pleaded guilty to when they were read to him.

In his ruling, Magistrate Nasir Ahmad sentenced the defendant to two years in prison, a fine of N20,000, an additional six months imprisonment, and 40 strokes of cane.
