Haliru, one of the loyalist of the state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and a strong supporter of Sen Uba Sani had dragged Senator Kwari before the court Kaduna, praying it to void the senatorial primary on grounds Sen Kwari illegally manipulated the process to his favour in the election he said was conducted under duress.

Accordingly, he is praying the court to stop Sen Kwari from parading himself as the candidate of APC, even as he is asking the court to declare him the rightful winner of the primary election conducted in Zaria.
In the primary election held in May, thugs and hoodlums were said to have invaded the venue of Kaduna North APC senatorial district primary election and turned the exercise rowdy and bloody.
Cameras and other electronic gadgets of some journalists were also confiscated by loyalists of one of the aspirants.
