Court To Hear Suit On Kaduna North Central Senatorial Primary Tomorrow

A High Court sitting in Kaduna will tomorrow resume hearing in the suit brought before it by a senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibrahim Haliru Auchen, challenging the emergence of Sen Abdul Suleimnan Kwari, as the party’s senatorial candidate in the Kaduna North senatorial district, Zone A, primary election.

 

Haliru, one of the loyalist of the state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and a strong supporter of Sen Uba Sani had dragged Senator Kwari before the court Kaduna, praying it to void the senatorial primary on grounds Sen Kwari illegally manipulated the process to his favour in the election he said was conducted under duress.

Accordingly, he is praying the court to stop Sen Kwari from parading himself as the candidate of APC, even as he is asking the court to declare him the rightful winner of the primary election conducted in Zaria.
In the primary election held in May, thugs and hoodlums were said to have invaded the venue of Kaduna North APC senatorial district primary election and turned the exercise rowdy and bloody.
Cameras and other electronic gadgets of some journalists were also confiscated by loyalists of one of the aspirants.
