During a recent visit to Baze University, Nnedinma Obioha, founder and CEO of CPMS and Tech Terminal, met with Abdulmutallib Alhassan, Acting Director of IT Services at the university.

Obioha shared her vision for empowering women in the tech sector, emphasising the increasing importance of IT literacy for personal and professional growth.

“Our goal is to provide women, especially those in rural areas, with the skills they need to thrive in the digital age. Through this partnership, we aim to make coding and other IT skills accessible to women who have traditionally been excluded from the tech space,” said Obioha.

Responding, Baze University’s Acting Director of IT Services, Abdulmutallib Alhassan, provided insights into the university’s ongoing ICT initiatives, highlighting its commitment to integrating technology into all aspects of its operations.

“Baze University leverages ICT in almost every area, from student administration to academic learning management. Our goal is to stay at the forefront of technology adoption, ensuring we remain a leading institution in IT-driven education in Nigeria,” he explained.

He also discussed the university’s robust ICT infrastructure and its role in driving digital transformation within the education sector.

As part of the partnership, CPMS is initiating to host a summit in collaboration with Baze University, focused on equipping women with skills in coding and other IT fields.

The event, set to take place at a soon-to-be-announced location, will feature workshops and training sessions aimed at promoting digital literacy and IT empowerment for women. The summit will offer practical experience in areas such as coding and cybersecurity, with a particular emphasis on reaching women in rural communities.

This collaboration between Baze University and CPMS marks a significant step toward advancing IT education for women, helping to close the gender gap in the tech industry and promoting digital inclusion across the region.
