CRC Credit Bureau Limited has once again been presented with the Diamond Award for Best Credit Bureau of the Year – West Africa at the West African Innovation Awards 2026, making it a consecutive year of receiving the region’s most coveted honour in the credit information services space.

This back-to-back recognition underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to innovation, customer service excellence, and the highest standards of professional conduct across West Africa.

The West African Innovation Awards were established to celebrate and promote excellence, creativity, and innovation among leading brands and professionals operating across Nigeria and the wider West African region. The Awards convene distinguished figures from government, the banking sector, branding, advertising, and industry at large, and represent one of the most authoritative platforms for recognising outstanding institutional contribution and transformative leadership in the region.

The Diamond Award, the highest classification within the Awards framework, is conferred exclusively on institutions that have demonstrated exceptional and sustained performance that sets the benchmark for their industry.

Retaining this award in consecutive years is a distinction shared by very few institutions in the region and reflects a standard of excellence that is both deliberate and deeply embedded in the culture of CRC Credit Bureau.

Commenting on the recognition, the MD/CEO of CRC Credit Bureau Limited, Dr. ‘Tunde Popoola, said: “To win this award once is an achievement. To win it two years in a row is a statement. It tells us that what we are building at CRC Credit Bureau, the infrastructure of trust, the commitment to data quality, the investment in innovation, and the relentless focus on serving our customers well, is not only being noticed, but is being recognised as the standard for this region. To be identified as the best in West Africa is not something we take lightly. I am immensely proud of every member of our team. This belongs to all of you.”

The 2026 retention of this award adds to what has been a remarkable year of recognition for CRC Credit Bureau. The Company also recently retained its title as the Best Credit Bureau in Nigeria for the seventh consecutive year in the CFI.co Professional Services Awards 2026, making 2026 a year of double regional and national affirmation. Together, these honours paint the picture of an institution that leads not in one dimension, but across every metric that matters, innovation, trust, customer experience, and professional excellence.

The West African Innovation Awards recognition is also a testament to CRC Credit Bureau’s growing influence across the West African financial landscape. The Company’s expanding suite of products and services, which now includes credit reporting, credit scoring, account aggregation under Open Banking principles, Credit Advisory and Consulting Services (CACS), tenancy screening, and fraud solutions, reflects a strategic ambition that extends well beyond Nigeria’s borders. With a data repository of over 60 million unique data subjects and approximately 160 million credit facility records, CRC Credit Bureau is the largest private credit bureau on the African continent and a cornerstone of West Africa’s emerging financial infrastructure.
The Company remains committed to its founding purpose of setting the standards for financial empowerment and informed decision-making, and to building the ecosystem of trust that entrepreneurs, consumers, lenders, and policymakers across the region need to make confident financial decisions.
