He also characterised 2022 with several challenges in the economic and trade supply chain, but he expressed delight that the command was able to make some laudable achievement using technology-driven initiatives to maximise revenue collection, enforcement of anti-smuggling operations, export promotion and synergy with the noble stakeholders in the industry.

To him,  “on assumption to office, I undertook a two-week tour of the Excise factories and free trade zones (FTZ) within the Command’s jurisdiction. This is in tandem with our commitment to enhance collaboration among the different stakeholders in the supply chains, and subsequently improve our performance and operational relationship.”

He solicited for the co-operation of various factories for prompt payment of appropriate excise duty and other charges, he appreciated the compliant traders and encouraged them to do more in discharging their respective responsibilities.
