A border patrol team of Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Nigerian Immigration Service, Department of State Service and Nigerian Army led by chief superintendent of customs, A.A. Ibrahim, now assistant comptroller of Customs attached along Yauri- Jega Road in Kebbi State have intercepted 40 cartons and sacks containing 6,240 pieces of cap suspected to be sensitive dynamite explosives.
Briefing newsmen yesterday over the development in his office in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital, the customs area comptroller in the state, Iheanacho Ernest Ojike, said after an examination was conducted by the joint personnel the suspected items were found to contain 40 cartons and sacks totalling 6,240 pieces of cap sensitive dynamite explosives (Super Power 90) which were loaded on white Canter/ truck with registration number Zur 882ZY together with a Haejue motorcycle number JEG-562 UQ.
The comptroller said two suspects were arrested and detained by Customs Command in Birnin Kebbi and the seized items were handed over to the department of state service officials.
