Beauty entrepreneurs Dabota Lawson and Adeola Adeyemi, popularly known as Diiadem, have engaged in a public social media fallout following allegations of financial disagreement, blog leaks, and personal betrayals.

The conflict escalated after Diiadem posted transaction receipts showing a ₦5 million birthday gift transferred to her by Lawson, which Diiadem claimed she was instructed to immediately return as part of a “girls’ game” for social media optics. Diiadem further accused Lawson of orchestrating online smear campaigns through gossip bloggers and leaking private details concerning her family and other associates.

In response, Lawson rejected the claims, asserting that the friendship broke down due to business rivalries and alleging that Diiadem sought access to wealthy men through her networks.

The dispute worsened as Diiadem publicly questioned Lawson’s motives regarding public figures, writing: “Or should we talk about your obvious admiration for Olori Atuwatse’s husband? Someone you couldn’t stop gushing about?”

Defending herself against the public backlash, Lawson responded on social media: “I didn’t know that admiring great men was suddenly a bad thing. As Christians, don’t women pray for their Boaz? And don’t people openly have harmless celebrity crushes?”
