The Deputy National Chairman North, All Progressives Congress ( APC ), Hon Ali Bukar Dalori, has donated N10 million naira and relief items to the internally displaced persons ( IDPs ) devastated by the fire outbreak in the Wanori and Nguluri communities of Konduga local government area of Borno state.
LEADERSHIP reports that the fire incident which erupted last Sunday, 6th April 2025, in Wanori and Nguluri communities claimed two lives, scores of domestic animals, and foodstuffs and completely razed over 90% of residential buildings owned mainly by the IDPs who were resettled back to their ancestral homes by the State government.
In heartfelt condolences Monday evening while addressing the victims in the affected communities, Hon, Dalori who is also the Chairman of the Governing Board, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, in Anambra State, while condoling the victims, said the gesture is expected to bring succour to the victims and their families, who have been affected by the tragic incident.
Dalori, who hails from the Konduga local government area, commended the Borno State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babagana Zulum, and all other philanthropic individuals and organisations that have contributed in one way or another by providing immediate and short-term relief items and temporary shelter to the victims.
“We are here to sympathise with you over the unfortunate fire incident. May the souls of the departed rest in Jannatul Firdaus, and may Allah grant the injured one a quick recovery.
“This personal gesture of N10 million and other relief items I am giving is expected to bring succour to the victims and their families affected by the tragic incident,” he said.
Dalori, who was accompanied during the sympathy visit by party faithful and some government officials, revealed that the visit underscores the APC’s commitment to supporting communities in Borno State, which hitherto experienced unabated devastation by the Boko Haram elements for over a decade.
He prayed to Allah to forestall any natural or artificial disaster in the future, and he enjoined the people of the area to be careful when handling or using fire as a source of power or energy for domestic purposes.
