Dantiye Named In NNPP Transition Committee On Property Recovery

Baba Dantiye, a former president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors has been named as a member of Governor-elect, Abba Kabir Yusuf transition committee in Kano. The transition committee is headed by Sen. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi.

Dantiye, who was the director of press and public relations under the government of Rabiu Kwankwaso, is one of 33 members of a subcommittee on the recovery of public property in the state. The subcommittee is also headed by  Baffa Bichi.

The governor-elect has been at logger-heads with the outgoing government of Abdullahi Ganduje over public property in the state, which has led a court order the present government to stay away from land belonging to a gulf club.

The incoming government set up a 65-member transition committee with at 33 subcommittees including ones on salaries, wages and pensions; on development partners and donor agencies, and on education.

Other subcommittees are those on women affairs, commerce and industry, youth and sports, Science and technology, assembly matter, agriculture and natural resources, works and infrastructure, judiciary, finance, housing and transport, civil service and local government subcommittees.
